Patriotism gets flashy for Fourth of July

BEACON -- It seems that every year, more and more homes are decorated, whether for Christmas or St. Patrick’s Day, with each homo decorated more elaborately than the next.

Tony and Laura Domenico of Beacon decided to celebrate this year’s Fourth of July by outlining their home in red, white and blue lights.

Although the Domenicos had the vision, the staff of Christmas Decor by Neave Landscaping of Wappingers Falls was responsible for the work.

“We saw another house decorated by Christmas Decor and thought it ‘was the coolest thing,” Laura Domenico said.

According to Domenico, her husband has always had an itch for outdoor decorating.

'My husband loves landscaping and decorates for all the holidays, like Easter, Halloween and St. Patrick’s Day,' she said.

Holiday trend

Along with Domenico, many local residents have become interested in decorating their homes and lawns.

'A lot of people were decorating, even more after Sept.11,' said Kathy Neave, owner of Neave Landscaping. 'I think more people are in a homey type of mode and are having more parties at home.'...
